TIME included the original Acemate Tennis Robot in its Best Inventions of 2025. The feature spotlights its moving catch-and-return design, app-controlled practice and post-session feedback on shot placement and speed.

After rallying with Acemate on a compact CES court, CNET’s Matt Elliott praised its quick movement, ball tracking and natural timing between returns. He also explored custom drills for backhands, court coverage and spin, while noting that higher-level players could challenge its pace.

After several court sessions, Elouan highlighted the moving robot, varied drills and approachable app as useful additions to solo training. The review also notes limited pace for powerful hitters, imperfect statistics and a catching system that cannot retrieve every shot.

Watching Acemate at a local court, T3’s editor noticed how it moved to catch returned balls and varied the pace, height and angle of its feeds. He saw the appeal for players without a regular partner, while noting that some missed catches still meant stopping to refill.
